A bumper crowd saw Gainsborough secure their National League North status thanks to results elsewhere. Trinity always knew that Brackley had to win away at Curzon Ashton for them to be safe from the drop if they did not win and they could only draw in Greater Manchester. A Jerome Wright drive just after the break won it for FC United as a thousand fans witnessed a whole range of emotions at the Martin and Co Arena.

Gainsborough suffered their first defeat in four games as Chorley struck three times on a sodden afternoon at Victory Park. Two goals in the first half seemed to confirm defeat for the Blues but a Nathan Jarman strike on the hour gave a glimmer of hope as Trinity improved after the break. The Magpies sealed the three points with ten minutes to go as a hopeful shot skimmed off the surface and passed Jan Budtz.

A penalty with the last kick of the game earned Alfreton an undeserved point at the Martin and Co Arena. Jonathan D'Laryea was the villain, bringing down Cecil Nyoni inside the box when he seemed to be going nowhere. Dan Bradley dispatched the penalty despite the best efforts of Jan Budtz to put him off.

Gainsborough conceded a late equaliser for the third game in succession as a tense fixture with Lowestoft went down to the wire. Player-manager Dom Roma turned the ball into his own net after Budtz parried the initial shot from Ryan Jarvis into his path with ten minutes to go. Trinity had taken a first half lead through Nathan Jarman, who notched for the third game in a row, as he met a Josh Lacey cross to give the Blues what looked a comfortable lead at half time.

Gloucester scored twice in the last six minutes of the game to snatch a point at the Martin and Co Arena. Trinity looked to have sealed all three points when Craig Reid calmly slotted the Blues into a 3-1 lead before Tigers substitute Luke Hopper deflected a shot into the back of the net to grab a point. It was the second time in five days that Gainsborough had let in a stoppage time equaliser after Alfreton on Monday.

New Gainsborough manager Dom Roma completed the set as his Trinity side claimed a point in a game played in horrendous conditions at Bower Fold, to add to a victory and a defeat in his opening three games at the helm. In a game of minimal chances, the weather took the headlines as strong winds and a severe downpour in the final stages arguably could have seen the game abandoned had it happened earlier in the fixture.
