York City Match Preview

Gainsborough Trinity look to bounce back from Saturday’s defeat to Alfreton Town as they make the trip up north to York City. Both sides have had starts they certainly wouldn’t have wished for at the start of the season, and with York recording back-to-back victories, it will certainly be a tricky tie for Dave and his side.

Following Saturday’s defeat, Dave is now left with a difficult challenge as to who he picks for tomorrow’s tie. Tom Davie is available for his last game, before a three match ban for his straight red card at the Impact Arena, whereas Trinity captain Nathan Jarman will both be unable to play tomorrow, due to his dismissal last midweek at home to Bradford Park Avenue.

Jonathan Williams and Chris Salt remain out for the rest of the season after both suffered long term injuries back in August. Louis Jones is also unable to play tomorrow, the keeper’s loan spell ended after the game against Alfreton Town. Everyone at Gainsborough Trinity would like to wish Louis all the best for the future, and thank him for the contribution he made to the club.

York City are National League North newcomers, after being relegated last season. One of several professional clubs in the league, York have had an inconsistent start to life in the National League North. After losing to AFC Telford on the opening day, they began to find momentum and overcame sides including Bradford Park Avenue and Nuneaton Town. Before two defeats in a row to FC United of Manchester and Chorley, but now following on from two wins against Spennymoor and Stockport, City look to make up for lost ground and look to extend their winning run tomorrow night.

Making the trip to Bootham Crescent tonight? Prices are as follows: Adult £14, Concessions £10, Under 18’s £5. Make sure you back the lads tomorrow night and cheer on Dave and his team. #inittogether
