Winteron Rangers FC vs Gainsborough Trinity FC

Gainsborough Trinity start their run of pre-season games on Monday evening (3rd July), 7:45pm kick off, when they make the short trip to Winterton Rangers RFC, to take on the Northern Counties East League side. Trinity, managed by Dave Frecklington, will be looking to give the majority of his squad minutes as the fixtures start, with under a week until the Vanarama National League fixtures are released on Wednesday (1pm).

All eyes will be on the host of signings the Gainsborough boss has made as they make their first starts in Gainsborough colours. Trinity will be sporting their all green pre-season strip, kindly sponsored by Elite Signs, which is available to buy in the Gainsborough Trinity Club Shop on Church Street, in association with Fun Prints.

There will be a handful of trialists on show, on Monday evening, looking to force their way into Frecklington and his assistant, Terry Flemings’ plans, as well as new signings: Ellis Storey, Jonathan Wafula, Johno Williams, Nathan Stainfield, Shane Clarke, Alex Simmons & Richard Walton, as well as many familiar faces from last seasons’ ‘Great Escape’ including: Nathan Jarman, Jack McGovern, Michael Jacklin, Josh Lacey, Ioan Evans, Alex Wiles, Gavin Rothery and Ashley Worsfold. Bradley Wells, Thomas Davie, Craig King & Chris Salt are unavailable for this fixture.

Paul Grimes, the Winterton manager has been busy recruiting ahead of Monday night’s game- Bruno Holden being their latest capture, a striker who has previously been at Stamford and Belper, goalkeeper Jody Barford, ex Brigg & Bottesford – as well as former Trinity youngster Lewis Bemrose. It’s thought a number of Trinity’s successful under 18 side could be looking to impress at Winterton, in the hope of playing regular mens’ football.

This game promises to be an interesting match up for supporters on Winterton’s pristine looking pitch which is currently in tip-top condition for the start of the new season.

Entry to the game is priced at £4 adults, £2 concessions. Supporters are advised that café and bar facilities will be available at their West Street home from 6.30 in the evening. Let’s see as many of the #TrinityFamily along to cheer on Dave Frecklington’s Trinity Army and show the team what it means to play for Gainsborough Trinity in this local friendly, where you are sure to be greeted to a warm welcome! #inittogether
