Gainsborough Trinity can confirm the appointment of Steve Hutchinson and Lee Green to the role of Reserve Team Manager & Assistant. The duo replace former boss Jimmy Snee who stepped down at the end of the inaugural season to pursue a career as a councillor.

The appointment of the management team continues Richard Kane's desire to recruit from within. The chairman indicating, "We are looking to build on what we achieved in the first year. We didn't want to rip things up and start again. There is a good young nucleus to the side, and that's what we want going forwards... A lot of the young lads were experiencing their first season in men's football, and they will have learned a lot..."

"The ambition has to be to provide a pathway for Gainsborough youngsters to progress through and represent the first team. With Steve & Lee at the helm, working closely with the first team management (of Liam King & Ross Hannah) and the Under 18 setup, overseen by Pete Wallace - we are looking to well and truly be in it together."

Steve Hutchinson steps up from his position of Club Captain, to take his first steps in management, but does boast a wealth of experience at Step 5-7, representing the likes of Brigg Town and Bottesford in and around the Lincolnshire area, during a career spanning more than 15 years.

Steve enthused, "What an opportunity this is, to be offered the position of Gainsborough Trinity Reserves Manager, and I for one had no hesitation in accepting. On behalf of myself and Lee, we thank the club and chairman for the chance to deliver the clubs ambition. We have a vision that aligns with the clubs beliefs and objectives of developing from within and we can’t wait to get started!"

"We have a plan, a set of players we want to retain form our inaugural season and also a plan for recruiting local talent. Watch this space! We aim to make some headway in the coming weeks, securing pre-season fixtures, as we aim to develop and improve and look forward to a successful season ahead. Please get behind us!"

Lee Green begins his second season as Assistant, having previously assisted Jimmy last time out. Involved in Gainsborough grassroots football, Lee has numerous contacts within local football and is also keen to develop local talent for the benefit of Gainsborough Trinity.

With Green commenting, "I am looking forward to building on the progress made last year, it’s great the club are creating a platform for local talent."
