Frickley Athletic vs Gainsborough Trinity

Frickley Athletic vs Gainsborough Trinity

We continue our pre-season campaign tomorrow (Saturday 8th July, 3pm kick off) away at Frickley Athletic, having started our games on Monday with a hard fought 0-1 away victory over Winterton Rangers. With another session in the bank on Thursday evening, the Trinity squad is further boosted by the return of Thomas Davie from holiday. Ellis Storey has completed his core work and is ready for action. Craig King and Bradley Wells are also available for selection on Saturday. Chris Salt is still unavailable through injury, but will likely travel to Frickley’s Westfield Lane ground.

Trinity boss, Dave Frecklington continues to run the rule over trialists Kyle Dixon and Charlie Gator as the pair eye a deal with the Holy Blues and with lots more to come from the Gainsborough side he has already assembled, there is plenty of optimism around the camp that those traveling to South Yorkshire will be in for an entertaining game.

Squad in full: Richard Walton, Ellis Storey, Josh Lacey, Thomas Davie, Charlie Gator, Michael Jacklin, Nathan Stainfield, Ioan Evans, Shane Clarke, Johnathan Williams, Jonathan Wafula, Alex Wiles, Jack McGovern, Gavin Rothery, Kyle Dixon, Alex Simmons, Ashley Worsfold, Craig King, Brad Wells and Nathan Jarman. Unavailable: Chris Salt.

In the opposition line up is likely to be highly rated goalkeeper, Sebastian Malkowski, prolific non-league front man Gavin Allot and former Trinity player Jacob Hazel, who starred for us last pre-season, before finding the going tough and spending time on loan at Farsley Celtic and Scarborough. They have also recently re-recruited centre back John Cyrus, who scored against the Blues last season for Altrincham.

Admission fees for the game are £5 adults, £3 concessions, £3 under 16s. The hosts have advised I.D may be requested for the lower rates. Let’s hope for a good contingent of Holy Blues making the trip to Frickley, we’ll see you there!
