Ant Wilson Signs

New Signing

Gainsborough Trinity's Interim Boss, Liam King has busily set about moulding his squad ahead of Saturday's trip to league basement side North Ferriby United. Returning to the club, for a second spell is experienced front man, Ant Wilson. Wilson, a mobile striker most recently at Frickley Athletic where he has been in fine form of late, securing the man of the match award in his last appearance, having netted after 33 seconds against Lincoln United. Ant's previous spell was cruelly cut short by injury, but Liam King, who knows the player well believes that the centre forward can add something different.

"Ant gives us a presence up top, if needed, and is a handful for opposition teams to play against. He’s a great asset for the team to have as he brings others into play with his ability to hold the ball up. He always chips in with a few goals also. He's a great addition to the squad and gives us a different option."

To make way for the new additions, Max Watters has returned to parent club Doncaster Rovers as his one month loan came to an end. Watters made a flying start to life at Trinity, scoring on debut to give the Holy Blues all three points away at Mickleover Sports, before seeing opportunities limited to short cameos from the bench. Everyone at Gainsborough thanks Max for his time at the club and wishes him well in his future endeavours.

Also departing is youngster Jamie Ture. Ture signed a deal at the start of the season, but has found opportunities limited at right back, largely thanks to the consistent performances of Neil Austin. Jamie wanted more game time, but King couldn't promise this. "I couldn't guarantee regular games for Jamie here, he's a fantastic lad and I really hope he does well in the future!"

Liam King also hopes to have one more deal tied up in time for Saturday's visit to North Ferriby, with secretary Matt Boles working round the clock to ensure the latest acquisition is properly registered in time. We hope as many of you as possible can make the trip to Ferriby tomorrow, as Liam King's side look to make it two wins from two and keep up the pressure on the sides in the play-off places.
