AFC Telford Match Preview

"There’s a buzz about the place at the minute". Tuesday night sees Gainsborough Trinity manager, Dave Frecklington attempt to carry on his best run of games since taking over as manager at the end of last season. The Holy Blues are now 6 games unbeaten, and accumulating points in a bid to stay clear of the relegation zone. They currently sit in 18th, level on 12 points with local rivals Boston United after 14 games.

Last weekend it was once again Gainsborough’s will and determination that meant they came home with a valuable point away at Southport with Frecklington stating his side showed their "abundance of character", that has been present all year. This was personified by the 89th minute equaliser from Craig King, who "made up for his back pass" that gave the home sides their opener. The team will be hoping for a similar start to that against Southport, after Tom Davie headed in the opener inside two minutes after another enticing set piece by on-loan left back, Matty Taylor.

Telford on the other hand find themselves in mid-table, after an impressive start to the season. The visitors are also on a good run of form, having not lost in 5 games, which includes 3 FA Cup fixtures and two league victories over strugglers Boston United and North Ferriby United. The management team will have decisions to make with skipper Nathan Jarman and midfielder Jonathan Wafula returning from suspension. Both were in fine form before their suspensions and should at least be in the matchday squad for the fixture. There will also be question marks over the formation with the team reverting to a 4-4-2 last weekend, which proved to work away from home.

Make sure to get down to the Martin & Co Arena and cheer the team on as they carry on this great run of form.
