Gainsborough Trinity travel to Staffordshire this weekend to face play-off chasing Tamworth FC hoping to turn their fortunes around in the Vanarama National League North. Trinity are yet to win a game under new boss Dave Frecklington but the gaffer maintains that if his side can "maintain a siege mentality" then they’ll have a better chance of survival. Gainsborough slipped into the relegation zone at the weekend following Worcester’s draw away at Nuneaton Town.

The National League vs The British Army

In a unique series of representative matches, The National League will play The British Army at three differing locations on the same evening. These will take place on Wednesday 29th March 7.45pm at Eastbourne Borough, Harrogate Town and Tamworth. Each match being supported in partnership with Vanarama and S & C Slatter. Each of the three squads are drawn from players who play in The National League North and South only.

And Trinity Chairman, Richard Kane has backed his man, sanctioning the recruitment of no less than five new players ahead of the visit of the Coasters tomorrow afternoon.

Michael Jacklin Signs

Trinity boss, Dave Frecklington, has moved quickly to acquire the services of Michael Jacklin from one of his former clubs, Lincoln United. Perhaps a familiar name, Jacklin was on the mark for his former side, against Gainsborough back in July, when his headed finish was the difference between the two sides in the Lincolnshire County Cup tie that was the curtain raiser for our season.

Burdett Returns to The Iron

The loan spell of Noel Burdett has been terminated by mutual consent, with the player returning immediately to Scunthorpe United. Noel will be best remembered for his cool finish in the away game at Altrincham that helped give us a dream start, going 0-2 up inside the opening ten minutes. This was a vitally important victory for the club, a game we ended up winning 2-3 and without Noel’s contribution on that afternoon, the league table might be looking a whole lot different.
