Important information from FC United of Manchester regarding Saturday’s crucial fixture. We have been advised of the following information for our travelling supporters on Saturday. FC United advise us that they only segregate games when advised by police, with most of their fixtures being unsegregated. Due to the large crowd expected on Saturday, Trinity supporters are advised to enter via turnstiles 11 and 12 at the Lightbowne Road end of the ground, see image below.

Exhibition Opens to Honor Fred Spiksley

Last Sunday, 19th March marked the 130 year anniversary of Fred Spiksley’s debut for Gainsborough Trinity, in a match on the Northolme against Notts Jardines, a strong team during the 1880’s. The 17 year old winger was a last minute replacement on a day when Trinity lost three players due to injury and illness, forcing them to turn to Spiksley who most considered by most to be too small and lightweight to play the ‘rough’ professional game. It was not long before the doubters would be proven wrong!

After having rescued a point in their last fixture from a superb last minute block by Cecil Nyoni, The Holy Blues look to continue to pick up points as they come into their final two games of the season where they carry on to attempt escape from the relegation zone.
