Gainsborough Trinity can confirm the arrival of, 19 year old Goalkeeper, Richard Walton on a season long loan deal from Lincolnshire neighbours, Lincoln City. The young goalkeeper is the first of two signings in that position Dave Frecklington is hoping to make, but the boss couldn’t hide his delight when he admitted. "I am really pleased to get this one over the line. I have been chasing Richard all summer, and am really pleased to have him at the football club. We have worked together a couple of times, at Lincoln United and last season at Spalding and he is a very capable goalkeeper, who is thought of highly by the Cowley brothers at Lincoln."

It is announced that the 2018 Vanarama National League Promotion Final will take place at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 12 May at 3pm, though kick off time is subject to final confirmation. The final, which will be part of the Vanarama Big Day Out 4 will be screened LIVE by BTSport, the television broadcast partner of The National League.

Gainsborough Trinity start their run of pre-season games on Monday evening (3rd July), 7:45pm kick off, when they make the short trip to Winterton Rangers RFC, to take on the Northern Counties East League side. Trinity, managed by Dave Frecklington, will be looking to give the majority of his squad minutes as the fixtures start, with under a week until the Vanarama National League fixtures are released on Wednesday (1pm).

Gainsborough Trinity have this evening fought off stiff competition to land the signing of Alex Simmons, following his release from near neighbours, Lincoln City. Simmons, who spent time on loan at FC Halifax last season, scoring eight times in the process, actually played against Gainsborough, back in September when he was on the mark for the Shaymen as Trinity came out 3-2 winners against the side who would join AFC Fylde in the National League next season.

Gainsborough Trinity FC can today confirm that we have accepted an offer for goalkeeper, George Willis and defender Brad Beatson from Boston United. At the end of last season, chairman Richard Kane & boss Dave Frecklington offered both players terms of re-engagement, in an attempt to keep them both at the football club, for a further season.
