Trinity host mid-table opposition this weekend in the shape of Curzon Ashton. Gainsborough will be hoping to get some points on the board in order to move away from the dreaded drop-zone in the National League North. Gainsborough still occupy nineteenth place, only two points clear of the drop zone. However, manager Dave Frecklington believes his side can capitalise on last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Gloucester City and begin to put together a good run of form as we enter the business end of the season.

And new manager Dave Frecklington is delighted to have the experienced shot stoppers’ signature, following the dismissal of George Willis in Trinity’s last game, away at Bradford Park Avenue last weekend.

Home Match vs Gloucester Preview

Trinity host mid-table Gloucester City this weekend, in newly appointed manager Dave Frecklington’s first game in charge. Trinity will be looking to move further away from the relegation zone in a bid to secure their National League North status. Gainsborough currently sit in seventeenth place, only one point away from safety. However, new manager Frecklington has injected a much-needed sense of optimism and belief into Gainsborough that he can be the man to take the Holy Blues’ forward.

Following his first session in Caretaker charge (Tuesday), Adam Quinn reacted in a positive fashion. "We’ve had a good session, similar to what we have been doing. I’m not planning on making any drastic changes, it is just a case of keeping things ticking over until a decision made on who the next manager is." He continued, "We have sat down as a group and had a good discussion about things. We have a lot of young lads and for many of them, this is the first time something like this has happened to them. The likes of Matty Wilson, Jarmo, Matt Thornhill have that valuable experience and they have rallied round really well and are helping the lads come to terms with things."

Burdett Returns to The Iron

The loan spell of Noel Burdett has been terminated by mutual consent, with the player returning immediately to Scunthorpe United. Noel will be best remembered for his cool finish in the away game at Altrincham that helped give us a dream start, going 0-2 up inside the opening ten minutes. This was a vitally important victory for the club, a game we ended up winning 2-3 and without Noel’s contribution on that afternoon, the league table might be looking a whole lot different.

Away Match vs Bradford Park Avenue Preview

Managerless Trinity face a trip to West Yorkshire to face Bradford Park Avenue, hoping to put their defeat to Alfreton behind them as they begin to search for Dominic Roma’s successor. Gainsborough currently sit in seventeenth place, only four points ahead of Bradford PA who occupy twentieth place in the relegation zone. This won’t be the easiest of tests for the Holy Blues’ who lost Dominic Roma as manager at the end of last weekend, but Adam Quinn and Matt Wilson will be keen to make an impact after being put in charge on a temporary basis.
