Third-placed Chorley made up ground on second-placed Darlington at the Martin & Co Arena thanks to a 2-0 victory over Gainsborough Trinity. It was by no means an uneventful contest on Trinity’s part, with Dom Roma’s men very much matching the Magpies throughout. Things could have been different, however, if Marcus Carver’s 45-yard lob had successfully caught George Willis off his line after the 'keeper had raced out of his goal but failed to beat Carver to the ball. He was spared his blushes once the effort landed on the roof of the net.

Gainsborough secured their first away win of the season as they came from a goal down to defeat Curzon Ashton at the Tameside Stadium. Matt Thornhill snatched the three points with a deflected strike from the edge of the area after good work from Nathan Jarman.

Gainsborough Trinity entertain Nuneaton Town at the Martin & Co Arena on Saturday afternoon, kick off 3.00pm as the side look to continue their impressive early season home form. Trinity have taken 13 points from the last fifteen available at home, including the impressive scalps of Tamworth & Halifax and also hold the upper hand over Nuneaton, with three wins in the last five games against the side currently sitting in 17th spot, with 13 points on the board.

Double Signing Boosts Trinity

Gainsborough Trinity are delighted to announce the double signing of Matt Sparrow and Matthew Templeton in time for the weekends’ fixture with Tamworth. Sparrow an experienced midfielder, who played 369 times for league neighbours Scunthorpe United amongst nearly 450 league appearances, arrives via a spell abroad playing in Australia. The signing of Sparrow has long been in the offing, the club having to wait for International Clearance from the Australian FA before announcing the signing.

We're giving you some advance notice of an exciting competition that could net the club, or yourself some fantastic prizes! To do it though, we'll need all of your support to make it a possibility!

Gainsborough Trinity 2 Nuneaton Town 2

Gainsborough made it six home games unbeaten as they came from behind twice in the first half to get a point against Nuneaton. Adam Quinn and a James Reid penalty were enough to secure a point in a game the Blues will probably look back on and think they should have perhaps got all three on offer. It was a dominant first half against on Nuneaton side who were clearly wary of the dangers of the Trinity front line.

Gainsborough Trinity head north to Bishop Auckland at the weekend to take on Darlington FC in the Vanarama National League North in a fractured league programme, due to a number of sides still competing in the FA Cup.

Darlington 1883 are on something of an upward trajectory at present, having gained three promotions in the last four years under the stewardship of manager Martin Gray and are well positioned to challenge again. Sitting third in the table, Darlington 1883 have won four and lost two of their six home games in the league this season, coming into the weekend’s game on the back of a 2-2 draw away at Brackley Town.

Trinity Welcome Some Very Special Guests

On Saturday Gainsborough Trinity Football Club welcome some very special guests in honour of one of Gainsborough's own. Our most famous son, Fred Spiksley. With the launch of a book detailing his life out recently, we are visited by the authors and family members of the Gainsborough great for the Tamworth game on Saturday.

Available to sign copies of the book, Clive Nicholson & Mark Metcalf will be in Blues Club prior to the game with a fantastic opportunity for the people of Gainsborough (and Tamworth) to purchase the book at the retail price of £19.99, but with the gesture that £10 from each sale will be donated to Gainsborough Trinity Football Club.
