Gainsborough Trinity Football Club are pleased to announce the signing of Tom Nicholson on loan, until the end of the season from FC Halifax Town. And new manager Dave Frecklington is delighted to have the experienced shot stoppers’ signature, following the dismissal of George Willis in Trinity’s last game, away at Bradford Park Avenue last weekend.

Home Match vs Gloucester Preview

Trinity host mid-table Gloucester City this weekend, in newly appointed manager Dave Frecklington’s first game in charge. Trinity will be looking to move further away from the relegation zone in a bid to secure their National League North status. Gainsborough currently sit in seventeenth place, only one point away from safety. However, new manager Frecklington has injected a much-needed sense of optimism and belief into Gainsborough that he can be the man to take the Holy Blues’ forward.

Following his first session in Caretaker charge (Tuesday), Adam Quinn reacted in a positive fashion. "We’ve had a good session, similar to what we have been doing. I’m not planning on making any drastic changes, it is just a case of keeping things ticking over until a decision made on who the next manager is." He continued, "We have sat down as a group and had a good discussion about things. We have a lot of young lads and for many of them, this is the first time something like this has happened to them. The likes of Matty Wilson, Jarmo, Matt Thornhill have that valuable experience and they have rallied round really well and are helping the lads come to terms with things."

Blues Begin Search for New Boss

Richard Kane and the Board of Directors have reluctantly accepted the resignation of management duo, Dominic Roma and Martin Foster. Since taking over, initially in temporary charge in March, following a disappointing 0-2 home reverse at the hands of Curzon Ashton. Roma oversaw nine games, before being handed the reigns on a full time basis after the final game of last season.

Managerless Trinity face a trip to West Yorkshire to face Bradford Park Avenue, hoping to put their defeat to Alfreton behind them as they begin to search for Dominic Roma’s successor. Gainsborough currently sit in seventeenth place, only four points ahead of Bradford PA who occupy twentieth place in the relegation zone.
