Ex-Doncaster Man Boosts Blues

Gainsborough Trinity boss, Lee Sinnott has moved to strengthen his midfield with the capture of Harry Middleton from National League North side, Alfreton Town. A creative, ball-playing midfielder, Harry came through the youth ranks at Doncaster Rovers, before breaking into the first team and making over 40 appearances as Darren Ferguson’s Doncaster side were relegated into League Two.

Harry then joined Port Vale, where he made a handful of appearances, before joining National league side Halifax on loan, where he first joined up with Billy Heath. Following Heath’s appointment at Alfreton, Middleton quickly joined up with his former boss on the completion of his deal at Port Vale.

A 23 year old, deep lying ball player, Harry now joins Trinity, with the Gainsborough boss declaring, "He’s a midfielder who is comfortable on the ball. His passing is one of his plus points. We wanted to supplement what we already have, and he will keep things fresh in the middle of the park. I’m excited to get this one over the line. I knew we wouldn’t be able to go all season without adding to the midfield, so to get someone who is comfortable on the ball and will bring other people into play."

There will be more from Harry once he has met his new team mates. We join together in welcoming Harry to the football club and wish him a long and successful spell at the club!
